Meryl Streep is greatly admired by Penélope Cruz. Every time she sees her, she becomes giddy with excitement because she loves her so much.

Cruz, who was nominated for an award at the 2024 SAG Awards, commented on how she usually runs to hug Streep because she is her favorite actor.

She has made similar remarks in the past, such as in 2023 during a BAFTA ceremony, when she made light of her desire to bring Streep coffee to the set. When Streep brought her up in a speech at a Los Angeles gathering, Cruz was ecstatic.

Despite never having collaborated on a film, they did once participate in a charity picture shoot. In 2012, Cruz described it as ‘the most interesting love scene I’ve ever done.’
