Although Killian had neither much acting experience nor theater training, his performance simply shocked Walsh.

He later recalled: ‘The guy was probably 19 years old, but he looked only 13. At the same time, Killian had simply extraordinary energy and a special aura.’

The play gained wild success, and then followed an almost two-year tour, on which Killian was accompanied by Yvonne.

Many people who participated in the production shaped the actor’s tastes and still play a big role in his life.

Murphy’s next high-profile acting job was a role in the film ‘28 Days Later.’ This film brought worldwide fame to Killian.

It would seem that blockbusters and multimillion-dollar franchises should have followed him, but Murphy did

not want to follow the beaten path. He preferred to spend more time with his family, carefully choosing only interesting roles.

In 2001, the couple moved to London so that Yvonne could attend the Royal College of Art and complete her education.

‘This is some kind of interrupted life. Every day, exhausted, you return from filming to a small empty apartment,

learn your lines and try to snatch at least a few hours of sleep. And tomorrow everything will repeat itself,’ admitted Killian.

Murphy is completely different from his on-screen character; he is closer to his cowardly brother Shelby.

Filming Peaky Blinders was difficult for the actor. It took him almost 2 months to get rid of Shelby.

The constant whirlwind, when one film set is replaced by another, with endless flights, hotels and film festivals,

seems to him like some kind of fake life. Therefore, the actor tries to maintain a certain balance, although this is not always easy.

‘If it weren’t for my amazing wife, who is so understanding about work issues, I wouldn’t have succeeded,’ says Killian.

However, he believes that any father whose work forces him to frequently separate from his family experiences difficult feelings.

In his free time from filming, Killian communicates with family and friends, goes hiking,

walks the dog and cooks spaghetti for his sons. He tries not to let fame influence his life too much he uses public transport and does not hide from his neighbors.

The actor is glad that his sons are growing up to be more confident people than he once was. It took Murphy years to accept himself for who he was. But Killian feels his children are better prepared for adulthood.

Receiving another acting award, Killian addressed his wife and sons in his speech: ‘Thank you for putting up with me.

You put up with the fact that only part of me was with you, and sometimes I was completely absent when I was busy with the next film. You are always there. And I love you!
