The establishment is frequented by Lieutenant Colonel Robert Rizden, an Army Ranger.The man was placing his supper order one evening when an issue arose that he felt compelled to address.

A 9-year-old and a 13-year-old were the only customers at the restaurant when the two boys went around selling homemade treats.

It all started when the Lt. Col. contacted the lads while they were trying to earn money for their church.

He noticed that the guys appeared to be famished and chilly.He walked over to them and inquired about their activities and whether they had eaten dinner yet that day.

The boys clarified their actions and said that, no, they hadn’t eaten yet.

When Rizden discovered he had no money to give the boys, he inquired if there was any other way he could still be of assistance.

Leading the two to the front of the restaurant, he gave them the go-ahead to order whatever off the menu and promised to pay the money.

The lads initially gave off the impression that they couldn’t believe it, but they soon understood and gave their commands.

The two had enormous smiles on their cheeks and appeared to be overjoyed to be treated to dinner.
While his older buddy spoke to Rizden, the younger child danced around smiling.

When he saw what was happening, one of the other diners at the restaurant made the decision to record the event in order to demonstrate how considerate Rizden was.

Rizden merely replied that he had resorted to his original beliefs when he joined the Rangers when asked why he had chosen to assist the boys.

‘I will never desert my fellow soldiers.’ It was Rizden’s responsibility to assist these two boys, these two Americans, in their time of need.

Furthermore, his thoughtful deed had an effect on more people than simply the boys he assisted and the other Taco Bell customers.

Lt. Col. Rizden is a soldier, yet his primary role is that of a father.

Having two small children of his own, Rizden understood that approaching people to urge them to buy something in order to collect money could be scary, but these lads were working hard.

He wanted to do something good for these youngsters because he saw their desire and realized they represented his nation’s future.

And these boys will always carry his actions in their hearts and minds.‘When I grow up, I want to be just like you,’the kid stated, giving the soldier a salute.

Even though it might have been as easy as purchasing a few dinners, everyone who participated or watched the exchange that day felt a genuine sense of patriotism.
