The 82-year-old Martha Stewart shares her biggest regret in life.

Martha Stewart’s career has been nothing short of remarkable; even her five-month sentence in federal prison resulted in a new passion that she was able to turn into a product.

Now, as Stewart approaches the age of 83, the entrepreneur and television personality is reflecting on her life and admitting her regrets.

Stewart was not always the culinary genius we’ve grown to know and love over the last few decades. She started her career on Wall Street and didn’t decide to pursue her passion for writing and catering until she was in her forties.

Perhaps a little doubt can spur ambition, she told the New York Times. I knew I had to start my own career after quitting my Wall Street job. I started catering and now I do it every night.

Her personal life suffered despite her successful job change.

Even though I was regarded as a housewife at the time, I wasn’t paying attention to the house. For a marriage, it wasn’t sufficient, the woman wrote.

She had ended her marriage to her 19-year-old spouse, Andrew Stewart. Together, the couple had a single daughter named Alexis.

‘Perhaps I wish I had had more kids.’ Perhaps I regret the sudden termination of my marriage. We had spent 27 years together.

Stewart never got married again after divorcing her husband, but she frequently questions whether falling in love once again would have had any impact on her life.

Perhaps I would have enjoyed remarrying. I don’t mind that I didn’t, she continued. ‘Even so, I find myself wondering what might have been.’
