Elle’s 2023 Women in Hollywood event.It wasn’t, however, the result of their customary disagreements in public this time.

Rather, JLo’s appearance caused a stir on the internet. Fans criticized the bold fashion choice, but many did not understand its meaning.

Jennifer Lopez was wearing a unique, glistening silver-blue breastplate made by Singaporean artist Grace Ling, who uses 3D printing and fashion to produce eco-friendly designs.

The top was tailored to Lopez’s upper torso, shoulders, and chest to accentuate her well-defined abs from the front.

The back is fully exposed. Lopez accessorized it with a long, tight black skirt that accentuated her traditional hourglass figure.

Many celebrities, including Zendaya and Rihanna, have embraced the eye-catching breastplate trend, which has led some to see it as a potent signal on the red carpet.

This look embraces a contemporary version of strong, elegant femininity in addition to covering cleavage.

JLo went on to accept her fifth Elle Icon Award, emphasizing, ‘Of all the things I thought I’d grow up to be when I was a little girl, the last thing on my list was icon.’

Lopez used the opportunity to discuss breaking barriers and celebrating women’s strengths in Hollywood, stating,

‘The things that women are usually criticized for and kept out of rooms for, things like changing our minds, things like being emotional,

Despite the fact that Lopez was the center of attention throughout the evening, some people began to criticize her costume choice.

A few people criticized her choice of a revealing top, adding, ‘Someone should tell Jlo she isn’t a teenager anymore.’
