This incredible event occurred when Celine Dion sang ‘Because You Loved Me,’ the first dance song, to a newlywed couple in Las Vegas.

Celine Dion attended the wedding of Air Force Majors Jason and Kate at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

With a goal to give the couple a wedding they would never forget, US TV host Jimmy Kimmel masterminded the amazing turn of events that occurred in April 2019.

Following a somewhat comical nuptial ceremony in which Kimmel joined the couple via a live link and actor David Spade blasted them with wine,

the nuptials took a romantic turn when a ‘surprise wedding singer’ was announced.
The superstar singer then appeared behind the chapel door,

shocking the couple seated at the altar as she started to perform the first few notes of ‘Because You Loved Me.’Image: YouTube/ABC

US TV star Jimmy Kimmel (shown, center), who was committed to giving the couple a memorable wedding in April 2019, was the mastermind behind the amazing turn of events.

Did you have a wedding vocalist hired? Kimmel shook his head at the newlyweds’ response to his question.

He went on, ‘Well, happily I know a local performer who has agreed to help you out.’

The amazing event happened early in 2019 while Celine Dion was performing at her Las Vegas engagement.

The Canadian resident of Las Vegas began performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in March 2011

and is expected to have given 70 appearances annually until her final performance in June 2019, which coincided with the release of the wedding video.

In December 2022, Celine Dion disclosed that he had received a diagnosis of an uncommon and terminal neurological illness.
