The 13-Year-Old Down Syndrome Actor and Author Is Funny and Motivating

Life is not always an even experience. Nobody can survive this life without experiencing hurt and pain.

Certain events will leave their imprint and leave us hurt and bruised. But some people seem to face and experience more difficulties and trials than they should.

But giving up is not an option, even in such difficult times. Actually, those challenges can work to our advantage, strengthening us and inspiring us to pursue more and better things.

Mia Armstrong is a prime illustration of this concept. The adolescent Down syndrome activist, writer, and performer hasn’t let anything stop her.

In an interview with CBS Mornings, Mia gracefully and humorously explains why she thinks her superpower is her Down syndrome. She also discussed ‘I Am a Masterpiece,’ her book.

Regardless of whether someone has a disability or not, Mia continues, she wants people to be kind to one another.

But Mia knows that sometimes people ‘forget their manners,’ so even if they say something nasty or mean to her, she tries to be patient and kind to them.

Mia is a radiant young lady with a kind heart and positive outlook who inspires others. It’s evident that Mia also has a fantastic, devoted mother.

During the interview section, Mia’s mother joined her daughter and described having a child with Down syndrome as a ‘privilege.’

Raising a child with Down syndrome is a privilege, she declared. ‘Our family has learned so much about perseverance and patience from Mia.’

She also said to Mia that she is an inspiration to her every day because she never quits up, no matter what.

Mia is a remarkable young lady who has done a great deal in her brief life. Who knows what her next move might be?
