Legendary actress Dame Judi Dench is set to make history once again as the first woman to become a member of the famous men’s club.
Dench will become the first woman to join London’s exclusive The Garrick Club. The club is 193 years old.
It is named after actor and playwright David Garrick and has 1,500 members, including famous stars,
politicians and public figures such as King Charles III, Brian Cox, Benedict Cumberbatch, DailyMail editor-in-chief Paul Dacre and others.
Now, almost two centuries later, the club is open to women, and Dench will be the first woman to be admitted as a member.
Last week, about 60 percent of members voted to allow women to join the gentlemen’s club.
Stars such as Stephen Fry and Nigel Havers were reportedly in favor of Dench joining the club first.
