The Walmart worker impressed the judges so much that they asked for more

Jahmene Douglas was not an exception to the rule that people don’t always choose careers that best utilize their gifts.

When he revealed to the X Factor judges that he was a Walmart markdown cashier, he set low expectations for himself.

However, it was widely known that this grocery worker would be moving jobs after his tryout. Jahmene remarked,

‘I’ve always dreamed about being a singer.” Each person has a specialty. And singing is what I do. And he was aware that, for those who had them,

talent competitions such as X Factor have evolved into platforms for individuals to display their extraordinary abilities. Jahmene, however, completely stunned them when he began to sing!

Jahmene performed the well-known song ‘At Last,’ which was composed in 1941 and has been covered by numerous musicians over the years, during his audition.

However, Etta James’s 1960 recording is undoubtedly the most well-known; it has appeared in numerous movies,

TV series, and advertisements over the years and is regarded as one of the all-time great vocal performances.

The judges were convinced after he opened his mouth that Douglas, the Walmart employee, had truly made Etta James proud.
