Matthew Perry succumbed to the acute effects of ketamine in October. Courteney Cox has never before talked about her long-term relationship with Matthew Perry.
The 59-year-old actress who played Friends stated in an interview that it was shown on CBS Sunday Morning that she still keeps in touch with her late co-star and feels his presence all the time.
‘He visits me a lot, if we believe in that,’ she reveals, speaking of her interactions with those who have passed on.
She goes on, ‘I talk to my dad, my mom, and Matthew.’ ‘It seems like a lot of people are guiding us in some way.’ ‘I have a strong feeling that Matthew is nearby,’ Cox continues.
Cox and Perry had a close on-screen relationship during their tenure on the NBC sitcom, which aired from 1994 until 2004.
They portrayed Chandler Bing and Monica Geller, respectively. The popular duo portrayed friends who finally fell in love and were married in the seventh season of the drama.
Cox describes Perry as ‘probably one of the funniest people in the world.’ ‘I’m in love with him.’ To put it plainly, he’s hilarious.
To be completely honest, he has a huge heart. There’s no denying that he had difficulties. ‘I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years,’ she adds in her statement.
Perry died on October 28 at his Los Angeles home from the acute effects of ketamine, according to the results of his autopsy.
His age was 54. Jennifer Aniston, who also graduated from Friends, stated earlier this year to Entertainment Tonight (ET) that ‘celebrating him’ was the best way to honor Perry.
A few weeks after the Friends series finale commemorated its 20th anniversary, Cox delivered his most recent remarks.
It’s a huge accomplishment that the program is commemorating its first major anniversary after Perry’s death.
At the time, it was unknown that Friends: The Reunion, a 2021 Max special, would mark the final public gathering of
the well-liked sextet of namesake friends that fans cherished following through ups and downs in their sexual relationships and life transitions.
For the Friends: The Reunion special, the group came back together. For the first time since their
last episode aired on May 6, 2004, the ensemble—which featured Perry, Aniston, Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc—reunited in public during the streaming special.
They accomplished this by getting back together on the sets from their television program, which they had worked on for ten seasons.
Approximately two and a half years after Perry’s death, the remaining five would join together once more for his funeral.
