America’s Got Talent just seems to grow better and better with each new season, full of amazing talents and unexpected twists that leave everyone in awe! Richard Goodall,
a modest Indiana janitor whose deep love of music has accompanied him throughout his life, was one such surprise this year.
Richard has always been passionate about music, but he decided to work as a janitor at a nearby middle school, where he is still employed today.
However, the children are aware of his passion of singing because they frequently hear him serenading the halls while he performs his tasks.
Still, it makes sense that the idea of trying out for AGT terrified him, even with his obvious talent!
This was unlike anything Richard had ever done before. He even disclosed that prior to his audition,
he had never taken an airplane flight until his journey to California for the performance! Richard could feel his anxiety rising,
but as soon as the famous ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ theme song began to play, it all appeared to go away.
Without any idea of the incredible show that awaited them, the judges and audience were glued to their seats.
Richard gave a fantastic performance of the beloved song. His powerful, emotionally charged voice memorably encapsulated the essence of the song, leaving everyone in amazement.
Richard shot to fame after Heidi Klum, touched by his performance, pressed her Golden Buzzer and sent him straight to the live shows.
Simon Cowell firmly said, ‘America is going to love you,’ following his performance. Based on the overwhelmingly positive fan feedback, it appears Simon was spot on.
‘I would believe you if you told me this was Steve Perry and I was wearing a blindfold,’ a YouTube admirer said.
Since Nightbirde’s audition three years ago, I have never been this enthralled. Richard is deserving of this opportunity.
He continued to believe, and as a result, he has gained the support of everyone. Richard, come down from this stratosphere.
‘I can’t express with words how proud I am to be able to say that I am one of the kids who always told him how amazing his voice is,’ said a poignant statement from another person.
Hearing this occurrence is my favorite part of strolling down the elementary school corridor. You really are a hero, Richard.
