There is a long-standing custom among musicians and artists to cover one another’s tunes. It has probably been going on for decades, even since music was created.

It’s therefore unlikely to end very soon because it’s now a practice shared by almost all musicians.

It’s likely that most people don’t want to see musicians ever cease covering songs. Who wouldn’t want to hear a well-known and cherished song performed in a fresh and creative way?

Through covers, listeners might experience an alternative interpretation of a classic song. These covers can be a complete failure at times or a hit occasionally.

But unless you try, you never know. One of the few singers left from the most recent season of American Idol is Julia Gagnon.

She has continuously shown that she is more than deserving of her continued appearance on the well-liked show.

Both the studio audiences and the judges have given her performances overwhelmingly positive reviews.

You knew you were going to be in for a real treat when Julia opted to cover the beloved song ‘Over the Rainbow.’

Every cover artist has to alter the original in some way for it to be considered worth doing. To make it uniquely theirs, they have to do something, like Julia did with ‘Over the Rainbow.’

Her rendition sounded and felt more tropical and Hawaiian. Her incredibly beautiful voice, which has carried her this far in the competition, complemented that tone flawlessly.

It was a really basic vocal performance, but most of the time that’s all you need and exactly what you want. Throughout her two-and-a-half-minute performance, her talent was evident.
