Elvis Presley performed a cover of Dolly Parton’s popular song ‘I Will Always Love You’ in 1974, the year the song was released.
In exchange for breaking her business partnership with longtime partner Porter Wagoner, Parton would have to forfeit half of the publication income to the country song she wrote.
Despite the fact that Presley was her idol, she was unable to sign. ‘I have a gut feeling that tells me not to do that.
And I simply didn’t do it,’ she stated in a CMT interview. But I’ve always been curious about the sound it would make.
I’m sure he’d kill it.It would have been slain by him. Nevertheless, he didn’t. I then made enough money to purchase Graceland once Whitney [Houston’s version] was released.

I will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance she did on my song.’ We shall miss you.
‘Song that is forbidden’ When 13-year-old Laura Kamhuber appeared on stage for a blind audition of The Voice Kids the next year, she mesmerized the judges with her faultless rendition of ‘I Will Always Love You.’
All three judges, who were turning their seats to train the middle schooler, praised the young Austrian participant in the popular singing competition held in Germany.
German pop sensation Tim Bendzko informed Kamhuber that she had just performed “the forbidden song’ following her spine-tingling show.
He made a joke that said, ‘You’re not actually allowed to sing this song because it’s unsingable,’
alluding to Houston’s remarkable vocal range. ‘You just sang it sensationally,’ continues Bendzko. It was amazing.
