Introducing the six-member family that has been living in an RV for the past five years: the Longneckers!
They began with a large fifth wheel trailer, but they discovered that parking and exploring off-the-beaten-path regions was too challenging.
They moved down to a refurbished antique Airstream. The airstream was purchased for $13,000, and after spending roughly $35,000 on renovations, the total cost came to nearly $48,000.
Their airstream, which is only 220 square feet, is equipped with a huge kitchen, 400 amp-hour solar batteries,
a bathroom with a shower and a nature’s head compost toilet, as well as a desk and office space where Jonathan can work while on the road.
Regarding sleeping arrangements, the parents sleep at the end of the trailer, and the four kids share two bunk beds in the middle.
They turn the dining table into a bed every night and rearrange the couch cushions to make it more comfortable.
The Longneckers have had amazing experiences hiking and camping in stunning places across the United States while homeschooling their children thanks to their lifestyle in an airstream.
