Nicolas Cage has joined the growing ranks of critics of artificial intelligence. In an interview with The New Yorker,
the ‘Treasure of the Nation’ star talked about having to undergo a ‘scan’ for Prime Video’s upcoming series ‘Spider-Man Noir’.
They are just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it with the help of digital artificial intelligence. I am horrified by it. I spoke about it very openly.’
The actor is horrified by the idea that his character can be used after his death. ‘It’s really scary.
I mean, what are you going to do with my body and face when I die?’ I don’t want them to do anything with them.’
Earlier, Cage had called AB “inhumane”, expressing his fear and concern over the posthumous use of actors’ images in ways that might be acceptable to them.
At the time, he told The Associated Press that digitally resurrecting James Dean for a Vietnam film was just such an example.
