A little video that was shared on social media shows a dog that is quite aware of what to do, even though the young child in the video at first uncertain and reluctant.

A youngster is shown playing at the beginning of the film, and then a hand—possibly that of the child’s mother—appear on camera.

The mother shouts, “High five, high five,” repeatedly as she extends her hand to the toddler. The child needs to know what the mom is asking for because her entire attention is on the hand.

Nevertheless, the infant finally understands and starts to raise itself and extend its arm to grasp its mother’s hand.

But before the mother and youngster can shake hands, a cute and funny dog swoops in to provide the required high five.

Obviously, the mother laughs at this endearing dog response. The puppy then briefly places its face and nose close to the child, almost as if it’s making sure there are no bad feelings after it swooped in.

The child doesn’t seem to be in the least bit disturbed. The mother might not have received a high five from her kid, but I imagine she wasn’t too sad to receive one from her lovely and loving dog instead.
