Luke Bryan Puts an End to His Deep Bass Cover of “Ring of Fire” and Instead Asks for a Christmas Carol

Ryan Seacrest is so taken by this young man’s voice that even before he enters the American Idol tryouts, he informs him that “he could make some money” by recording radio ads.

The voice of Westchester, Pennsylvania’s Luke Taylor wasn’t always deep. He claimed that until he was perhaps 16 or 17,

his voice had not truly dropped. “I went from singing alto at 4’11” (124 cm) to sub bass at 6’1″ (185 cm).” How very very well that went!

We’ve omitted the opening segment of the video below, but feel free to watch it again. In it, Idol Judge Luke Bryan believes he could earn a career by doing radio advertisements right away.

Even the judges make jokes about Taylor doing voiceovers for motion pictures. Lionel Ritchie responds, “Of course,” as Taylor reveals his song selection: Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.”

The funniest thing, though, is that before he can finish, Luke Bryan interrupts, calling him the “next Burl Ives,”

and invites him to perform a Christmas carol. After watching the video below, kindly let us know what you thought by posting a Facebook comment!
