Quartet with operatic voices, listed in the Guinness Book of Records – Il Divo with the song “Regresa a Mi”

British producer Simon Covell was inspired by the idea of organizing an international quartet and spent two years selecting participants.

The idea deserved the best implementation: the participants had to sing like the “three tenors” (Domingo, Carreras, Pavarotti) and look like Armani models.

Covell set such a high bar after the performance of the legendary duet Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli with the song “Time To Say Goodbye”

The casting was carried out over two years in Spain, Switzerland, France and the USA – in each country a participant was selected:

Spanish baritone Carlos Marin, Swiss tenor Urs Bühler, French pop singer Sebastien Izambard and American tenor David Miller.

This is how a successful group appeared, which mixes pop music and classical opera repertoire. Il Divo (which can be translated from Italian as “the divine performer”)

quickly conquered the best stages and the hearts of hundreds of thousands of fans around the world.

In 2006, the team was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful international project in its genre.

The legendary band has 160 gold and platinum awards in 35 countries, four world tours and 30,000,000 albums sold!

The group’s songs are performed in French, English, Spanish, Italian and Latin. The work of Il Divo is highly appreciated not only by thousands of fans, but also by many celebrities, including Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Barbra Streisand.
