It was an unprecedented occasion as a recently married couple from Arizona walked down the aisle. At Fry’s Food and Drug in Casa Grande, Arizona, on November 19, Brenda, 72, and Dennis Delgado, 78, tied the knot.
Not only did they meet in the condiment aisle, but nine months later Dennis proposed to Brenda at the same grocery store, which made their wedding extremely special to them.
In August 2021, the now-married pair happened upon one another. While Brenda was selecting a jar of Miracle Whip, a man approached her and used a pandemic-worthy pickup line.
You know what the biggest benefit of donning a mask is? Dennis answered, “You could pass by these [people] without masks and curse them under your breath; they won’t hear a word you say.” They conversed for thirty minutes as Brenda giggled.
The two went to church together the following week, where they both recovered. In August 2021, the now-married pair happened upon one another. While Brenda was selecting a jar of Miracle Whip, a man approached her and used a pandemic-worthy pickup line.

They had both been depressed before they had crossed paths. Recently, Brenda’s thirty-year-husband passed away from prostate cancer, and Dennis’s forty-five-year-wife passed away just over a year before to their meeting.
Brenda couldn’t figure out her “purpose,” and Dennis insisted he was “mad” at God for snatching away his wife. They were drawn together by their shared misery.
Over the course of the following three months, their bond deepened and they felt confident enough to proceed. “I informed him that he would propose to me on one knee,” Brenda clarified. Yes, he did.
Dennis proposed to Brenda in aisle eight, where they had initially met nine months prior, all on one knee. A few months after becoming engaged, the couple started organizing their wedding. There was nothing like their wedding.
“The Wedding March” was playing over the intercom as Brenda moved along the condiment aisle, which was decorated with unique flower arrangements made by grocery store staff.
Brenda may think their wedding is ridiculous, but others might not. “It was my idea to tie the knot there,” she said. Alright, I may be a touch odd.
