The work of elected politicians is challenging. Every choice those officials make or vote they cast is certain to infuriate some segment of their constituency.
But if a lot of people aren’t angry about something, then what good are politics and government?
Otherwise, how would 24-hour news stations manage to remain on the air? Elected officials need to be excellent communicators since their votes and decisions affect people’s lives.
They must be able to defend their choices on many issues and provide a justification for them. Televised speeches are among the greatest and most efficient means for politicians and other public servants to communicate their ideas and choices.
That’s precisely what one representative from the House of Representatives was doing at the moment. But it’s unlikely that anyone was listening to a word he said.
The son of Tennessee Congressman John Rose stole the show from his father by sitting behind him. In a YouTube video, the small creature saw the camera, leaned over, and began amusing the viewers.
The young man gave the camera a succession of unexpected and funny looks. He obviously had little interest in what his father was saying, based on his frenzied actions.
What was presumably an extremely boring and terrible experience for the tiny kid was made enjoyable by him.
The majority of adults lack the ability to focus or even show interest in listening to an elected representative ramble endlessly
about one subject or another. Can you picture a child’s reaction if they were required to perform that? Most would follow the young man’s example in the video.
