In 2017, English mother Imogen Scott thought of giving her son Marshall a particularly special fourth birthday.
He was fascinated with the royal guard, so she took him to Windsor Castle, where the good guard added even more significance to the boy’s day.

Marshall called out to the child and gave him a salute. The guard turned to face Marshall, stepped forward a few paces, then turned back to enter the guard room.
Journalists for the Evening Standard found Lance Corporal Edden to be a very good guard. Throughout the interview, he explained why he crossed the line for the boy.
The woman explains, “Normally, I just go with the soldiers to the guardhouse, but my wife and I are expecting a boy.”
When I was a kid, I remember wanting to take a picture with a soldier as I was standing at Edinburgh Castle. The boy’s guard uniform also touched the corporal, who showed his pride in becoming a soldier.
