If you share my love of vintage films, you are probably familiar with the band “Journey” from the 1970s.
They recorded the best power ballad ever for their second single album. the musical piece “Faithfully.”
A teenager performs brilliantly in a challenging song at his high school talent contest. At a talent show, Jonathan O’Neal sang one of Journey’s iconic classics.
It’s amazing how well he maintains his original key of B-major. He may not have quite reached the level of a rock star, but he made Steve Perry proud.
The song was written by the band’s keyboardist, Jonathan Cain, as they were traveling to Saratoga Springs, New York.
Using a napkin, Cain started writing down the words to “Highway Run Into the Midnight Sun.” The band’s road manager Pat Morrow and stage manager Benny Collins are honored in the phrase “we all need the clowns to make us smile.”
Considering that he was still in high school, Jonathan O’Neal not only has a fantastic voice, but he also has an incredible high range reach.
Play it and have fun, please. Remember to give the passionate vocalist on the feed some love.
