It’s much more difficult when the people in your life fail to provide you with support and encouragement when you’re at the lowest moment in your life. Unfortunately, this became a new reality for a mom who had just experienced the loss of her unborn\u00a0child. Furthermore, she could not believe how disrespectfully her boss responded to her situation, which she found upsetting.<\/p>\n
‘I can’t believe I’m writing this while sitting outdoors. This does not seem like reality to me at all. By law, Walmart has the right to dismiss you for any reason, so I assume this is on me’, a user wrote on\u00a0Reddit,\u00a0sharing her story\u00a0about her terrible miscarriage. ‘At work, I suffered a miscarriage. I began to bleed to the point that HR had to go get me a change of clothing and call 911 for me. I found out I was pregnant when I went to the Emergency.’<\/p>\n
When the woman returned to work after a few days off, she took her ‘medical documents to work’ and notified her boss about her time off. Her supervisor just responded ‘fine’ at the time and never told her about an online system called ‘Sedgwick’ that she was meant to use to call out and seek sick leave.<\/p>\n

Her supervisor then notified her a week later that she had been fired because she had missed days of work. ‘I tell her why I missed\u00a0 on\u00a0those days\u00a0and she advises to take it up with the store manager.\u00a0She informs the HR woman about the miscarriage she observed at a meeting.\u00a0This is the first time the shop manager has heard about it.’<\/p>\n
Despite being informed of the reason, the manager told her\u00a0that he ‘wanted employees who were going to be consistent and keep up with the fast-paced workplace.’ Redditors in the comments section were angry at\u00a0the woman’s boss, with one of them\u00a0writing, ‘I’m very sorry for your loss, and the trauma you had to go through on top of it was awful. That was an unfair termination, and you may be entitled to compensation for your lost earnings as a result of the unemployment.’<\/p>\n
