It’s possible that some folks perceive a different picture. It’s no secret that a fresh photo has been doing the rounds on social media lately. Just a basic photo of what seems to be an individual’s domesticated crow perched on the floor.<\/p>\n

It’s amusing since it’s not a crow. It’s not even a bird, in fact.<\/p>\n

It was discovered on Reddit by Robert Maguire, who subsequently shared it on Twitter in October of this year. This post has received more than 164,000 likes and more than 58,000 re-tweets throughout time. People were baffled by the creature’s appearance. One yellowish eye adorned its dark body. There was also a beak, although it didn’t appear like the beak of any bird in particular, especially a crow.<\/p>\n

More than 40 species of crows make up the genus Corvus. It is possible to find them on every continent except Antarctica. The Australian Raven (Corvus coronoides) has yellowish eyes, as do other species.<\/p>\n

The ‘crow’ sparked a flurry of online conjecture about what it may be. Maguire has at long last provided the solution.<\/p>\n

Instead of a bird, the photo showed a black cat with its head twisted in an upside-down position.<\/p>\n

An ear is what gives the ‘beak’ its strange form. It helped the cat-as-crow illusion because the photo didn’t display the cat’s tail, which would have revealed the whole trick. This led many people supposing that they were gazing at a crow because of the bird’s black feathers and shiny appearance.<\/p>\n
