Do you think miracles happen? Sometimes life truly amazes us in ways we never expected, inspiring us to believe in the potential of our deepest desires being realized.<\/p>\n

Surprisingly, the story we’re sharing with our readers today touches a similar topic, and we hope that after reading it, many people would want to believe in miracles.<\/p>\n

Lauren and David Perkins, who lived in Houston, were a happily married couple. They, like most couples, fantasized about creating a family and having their home filled with the cackles of toddlers.<\/p>\n

Lauren had always wanted to have a baby and had tried for a year to conceive. She wasn’t successful, and she didn’t know what to do to fix the problem.<\/p>\n

A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n

She and her husband decided to take a vacation one day in order to gain greater clarity about their next steps. So, without hesitation, the Perkinses packed their belongings and left for Nicaragua.<\/p>\n

During their journey, the couple made a lot of friends and had a great time. Lauren found the confidence to speak honestly about her inability to conceive while she was there.<\/p>\n

One of her friends, a priest, advised her after hearing her story that God had tremendous plans for her and that she would soon receive good news. Lauren stated that the priest’s unexpected announcement caught her off guard at the time.<\/p>\n

The couple returned to Texas after their trip. Lauren stated that she didn’t give to the priest’s words much thought. She and David instead chose to try artificial insemination. Even yet, the woman was sure that it wouldn’t make a difference.<\/p>\n

Just before the Perkinses got the wonderful news that Lauren was pregnant, they were about to give up on their dream of having children. Nurses informed her that her HCG levels were extremely high during her first routine check-up.<\/p>\n

Lauren was almost certainly pregnant with multiple children as a result of this. The couple had overcome so many obstacles that the prospect of having twins or triplets seemed impossible.<\/p>\n

EXPECT THE UNPREDICTABLE<\/p>\n

Lauren was taken aback when she learned how many lives were growing inside her during her ultrasound. The doctor diagnosed the screen before informing her of the blessed news. Lauren remembered:<\/p>\n

‘I count five in there,’ he added. That seemed impossible to me. ‘Wait a minute,’ he continued. ‘I just saw a sixth child.’<\/p>\n

Lauren recalled having to make a difficult choice: either minimize the number of children or carry them all. Despite the fact that the chances of all six newborns surviving were small and difficulties were possible, she and David chose the latter.<\/p>\n

Lauren was in week 30 when she was taken to the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston on April 23, 2012, where she gave birth to sextuplets (three boys and three girls) born ten weeks early.<\/p>\n

Andrew, Benjamin, Caroline, Leah, Allison, and Levi were all born weighing between one and two pounds. Lauren’s pregnancy was a one in four billion chance, according to reports. The new mother described herself as follows:<\/p>\n

‘I didn’t actually expect to see my babies until the next day, but on their way up to the NICU, each baby’s team rolled them past me one by one, and I got to hold their small fingers.’<\/p>\n

The babies were too sick to stay with their mother and father for a few days. Allison was the first baby to stabilize on her fourth day, and Lauren remembered fondly how it felt to embrace her beautiful girl. She said, ‘And it was at that moment, when I held my baby, that I became a mother…of sextuplets.’<\/p>\n

The young ones made it through the critical period and gradually recovered. The Perkinses were able to keep their pack of six after many weeks of intensive care from the neonatal staff.<\/p>\n

At four months old, five of the six babies were sent home. However, because she was the smallest and had struggled to find space within the womb, little Leah remained in the hospital for some time. TODAY quoted her mother as saying:<\/p>\n

‘Because she was physically buried behind everyone else in the womb, she didn’t obtain enough nutrients. Her brain was still in it\u00a0development.’<\/p>\n

AN EXTENSIVE SUPPORT SYSTEM<\/p>\n

It takes a village to raise a child, and the Perkinses had no idea how difficult caring for their sextuplets would be. They were fortunate to have the correct support structure in their family and neighborhood. Lauren spoke to the BBC and said:<\/p>\n

‘I knew we’d need help because there was no way we’d be able to pull this off on our own.’<\/p>\n

The Houston resident claimed that her neighbors assisted her in caring for the babies. She also expressed gratitude to the medical team, which included doctors and NICU nurses, for caring for her \u00a0babies.<\/p>\n

THE CORRECT Form OF CHAOS<\/p>\n

The six angels will be celebrating their tenth birthday this year. Lauren and David’s lives were turned upside down when they became parents to sextuplets. Lauren had the following to say about her experience:<\/p>\n

‘It’s what I refer to as ‘semi-controlled chaos.’ Especially in the first year, we had to get really scheduled, structured, and organized.’<\/p>\n

Leah, the couple’s daughter, had a tough childhood. Lauren described her sweet child as ‘full of fun and brightness from her family.’ Leah, she added, began school alongside her siblings.<\/p>\n
