<\/p>\nA surrogate mother from Utah gave birth to her daughter’s child in a one-of-a-kind pregnancy. According to PEOPLE, Kaitlyn Munoz, 25, was told she couldn’t have any more children due to ‘health difficulties.’ <\/p>\n
She was diagnosed with endometriosis and Sj\u00f6gren’s syndrome as a result. ‘Sjogren’s syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which your immune system goes wild and destroys healthy cells instead of invading bacteria or viruses,’ according to Web Md.<\/p>\n

It mostly affects the glands that generate tears and saliva, but it can also cause damage to the joints, thyroid, kidneys, liver, and other organs.<\/p>\n
According to Munoz’s Instagram post, she had two frozen embryos left over from an IVF operation that resulted in the birth of her previous kid, son Callahan. Her mother, Chalise Smith, stepped and offered to carry and birth her kid this time.<\/p>\n
Smith, a mother of eight children, talked with KSL \u2018I’ve seen Kaitlyn go through the IVF procedure, so I’m familiar with it. <\/p>\n
There are so many injections and emotions involved, and I informed her that I was aware of the dangers and that I had been praying about it for three weeks.’<\/p>\n
‘Then she said, ‘I was just sitting here thinking about who I could have carry my embryos when you phoned me up,’\u2019 she continued.<\/p>\n

Alayna Kait Chalise Munoz was born on May 17 at American Fork Hospital shortly before 9 p.m. \u2018She was seven pounds, thirteen ounces, and twenty-one inches long and came out just healthy and had her little screams,\u2019 she told Fox 13.<\/p>\n
\u2018I simply felt like this was something I could do for her, a present I could give her,\u2019 she continued.<\/p>\n
Munoz shared an emotional Instagram post announcing the arrival of her daughter. She penned, \u2018What an incredible journey the last 24 hours have been.<\/p>\n
I don’t know what to say. My mother is a living angel who has blessed us with yet another earthly blessing, and we are overjoyed.’ <\/p>\n
She went on to say, ‘It just felt natural when my mother offered to be our surrogate. My mother was wonderful throughout the pregnancy, and we had a wonderful birth. I’m grateful for my mother’s selflessness throughout this journey.’<\/p>\n

Smith made her decision last month while celebrating Alayna’s one-week birthday. On Facebook, she commented, \u2018Alayna will be one week old in a week! <\/p>\n
This week, as I reflected on my surrogacy journey, I was reminded of many of the things I encountered along the path.<\/p>\n
The journey was marked by a variety of emotions and feelings. Fear, excitement, faith, hope, expectation, uncertainty, joy, and, most importantly, LOVE.\u2019<\/p>\n
She said she hesitated whether or not to carry the embryos at first because she wanted to \u2018make sure I wasn’t making an emotional decision.’<\/p>\n
She continued,’ ‘I never expected to go through something like this or have a child at the age of 50! <\/p>\n
