Depp won all three defamation allegations in his case after six weeks of testifying in the defamation trial between the Pirates of the Caribbean star and his ex-wife Heard. <\/p>\n

Depp filed the $50 million lawsuit in March 2019, alleging that Heard’s 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post damaged his Hollywood career. Due to the crisis, the litigation was postponed, but it was just reopened, with Heard countersuing for $100 million. <\/p>\n
Due to a Virginia law cap on severe penalties, Depp was granted $15 million in damages, but Heard will only have to pay $10.35 million. Compensation of $2 million was awarded to the Aquaman star.<\/p>\n
