<\/p>\nShe was only able to locate her mother because she made her quest known to the public. Eileen asked listeners to identify her mother on the well-known Irish radio program \u2018RTE Liveline.\u2019 <\/p>\n
She knew that her mother would have passed away by now, of course. She was relieved to learn that her mother was still alive and well after receiving assistance from a listener who was also a genealogist.<\/p>\n

After hearing Eileen’s explanation of their visit, a man greeted her family and brought them into the Scotland home. <\/p>\n
In the living room, she discovered her mother reading a newspaper. When she revealed her Irish origins to the 104-year-old, her mother immediately made the connection.<\/p>\n
Eileen’s mother grabbed her hand when they were reunited and wouldn’t let go. Before Eileen and her family had to depart, they grew close and enjoyed three days together in Scotland. <\/p>\n

Eileen returned to Joe Duffy’s \u2018Liveline\u2019 on May 9 of the same year to inform him and his listeners of her reunion with her long-lost mother. <\/p>\n
