It was an unprecedented event for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Officers from the Tampa Police Department discovered a mama dog and her puppy running in a busy neighborhood near the freeway and took them to the shelter. <\/p>\n

However, when police returned to the location, they made a frightening discovery. They heard something and noticed a pink suitcase outside of a holiday property.<\/p>\n

\u2018When they returned to the location to check further, they discovered a closed suitcase with squeals coming from inside, outside a vacation rental,\u2019 the Humane Society of Tampa Bay posted on Facebook. <\/p>\n

When they opened it, they discovered six puppies inside.<\/p>\n

The mama dog and puppy they had discovered earlier proved to be the mother of these six puppies!<\/p>\n

We are so grateful they came back to save these babies,\u2019 the shelter worker wrote. \u2018\u2019Mom, a Terrier Mix, is resting here, and our great staff is caring for all seven 5-week-old puppies in our puppy nursery.\u2019<\/p>\n
