<\/p>\nIn a recent interview, the legendary Jane Fonda spoke candidly about her feelings of not having much time left to live. <\/p>\n
Fonda, who is now 84 and has spent practically her entire life in the spotlight, wants to make a point with the time she has left on earth about how crucial it is for public figures to speak out for worthy causes.<\/p>\n
The A-list actress said she is \u2018not afraid of death” but understands that she will pass away \u2018sooner rather than later.\u2019<\/p>\n

In a forthright interview with Entertainment Tonight, Fonda, who revealed earlier this year in September that she had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, said: \u2018I’m not going to be around for much longer.\u2019<\/p>\n
When you reach my age, you better understand how much time has passed since you were younger than you are now. That’s just reasonable, in my opinion. <\/p>\n

Fonda disclosed that she will be receiving chemotherapy after receiving a cancer diagnosis. At the moment, she posted on Instagram, \u2018So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share.\u2019 <\/p>\n
I’ve been given a non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s diagnosis and have begun chemotherapy.\u2019This malignancy is extremely curable. <\/p>\n
I consider myself incredibly lucky because 80% of people survive.\u2019\u2018I’m fortunate to have access to the top medical professionals and therapies because to my health insurance. <\/p>\n

I am aware of my privilege in this, and it hurts. Nearly every American family has experienced cancer at some point, and it is wrong that far too many people do not have access to the high-quality medical treatment I receive. <\/p>\n
She told ET, \u2018I’m ready!\u2019 \u2018My life has been wonderful. I don’t want to leave, but I know it will happen sooner rather than later.\u2019<\/p>\n
Fonda, who is in her later years, told ET! that she wants people to understand how crucial it is for public figures to use their platforms to support worthy causes.<\/p>\n

The 84-year-old continued, \u2018We also need to be talking much more about causes so we can get rid of them, not simply about remedies. <\/p>\n
For instance, people must be aware that cancer is brought on by fossil fuels.Likewise, insecticides, many of which are derived from fossil fuels like mine, do. <\/p>\n
Trust me, I won’t let any of this get in the way of my climate action, said Fonda.<\/p>\n
\u2018Cancer is a teacher, and I’m heeding the lessons it has in store for me. It has already taught me the value of community, for example. <\/p>\n
Fostering a deeper sense of community to ensure that we are not alone. And having cancer and being so close to 85 years old surely emphasize the value of adjusting to new circumstances. <\/p>\n
