Mariah Carey is one of the guest stars in his 2013 Christmas special. <\/p>\n

It’s worth recalling that Michael Bubl\u00e9 covered Mariah Carey’s \u2018All I Want for Christmas Is You\u2019 on his 2011 album Christmas. <\/p>\n

After waiting two years, he finally had the original vocalist on his show. <\/p>\n

With her first Christmas album, Merry Christmas, Mariah Carey gave the world a timeless holiday favorite.<\/p>\n

So many Christmas movies and albums have featured the song \u2018All I Want for Christmas Is You.\u2019As of the year 2017, the song had raked in an estimated $60 million in royalties. <\/p>\n

Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff co-wrote and produced the song, which has been a top hit since its 1994 debut. It’s funny how they first didn’t want to record the album. <\/p>\n

At the time, this was taken as proof that an artist’s career was on the decline if they released a Christmas album.<\/p>\n

For Carey, though, such was not the case. <\/p>\n

Just then, she was riding high on the success of her 1993 album, Music Box, which had just won multiple awards and broken sales records. <\/p>\n

Carey’s then-husband and producer, Tommy Mottola, was planning Carey’s future endeavors, which included the holiday album.<\/p>\n

In that era, \u2018there weren’t a lot of performers who had Christmas albums. It wasn’t a well-established field of study at the time, and no one was recording commercially successful new Christmas music. <\/p>\n

So, we planned to announce its release as if it were any other album: \u2018Hey, you know, we’re putting out a Christmas record. The situation isn’t that serious, Walter Afanasieff said.<\/p>\n

And the rest, as they say, is the old history.
\nMariah Carey was thrilled to sing her signature song with Michael Bubl\u00e9. <\/p>\n

She stepped up to the microphone in her short red dress and white knee-high boots and sung her heart out. <\/p>\n

Together, these two Grammy winners put on a fantastic show. In perfect harmony, they complemented one another.<\/p>\n

This performance lacked any trace of ego. <\/p>\n

There was no attempt to steal Mariah’s thunder because Michael Bubl\u00e9 understood that this was her signature song. <\/p>\n

And Mariah was aware that it was Michael’s concert, so she didn’t steal the thunder.They were both simply trying to put up a good show for the crowd.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the spectators had a good time during the show. As they sang, they bopped their heads to the rhythm, clapped their hands, and smiled. <\/p>\n
