Even so, it’s still fun to get dressed up and dance with your partner as you experience maturity for the first time.<\/p>\n

Sadly, for some people, prom doesn’t always measure up to expectations.Consider Isabelle Knowlton, who had a last-minute letdown when a date canceled on her. <\/p>\n
Being let down by someone may be extremely painful, but for Isabelle’s mother, it was especially upsetting.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
Since Isabelle is mostly nonverbal and in a wheelchair, it was impossible to quickly schedule another date. <\/p>\n
It fell to Isabelle’s mother, Syndi, to step up and try to get her daughter a date at the last minute. <\/p>\n
She sent a brief status update on Facebook with a picture of Isabelle and a flyer for the prom. The message said:<\/p>\n
\u2018My lovely 16-year-old daughter Isabelle is wheelchair-bound. Her date can no longer attend prom, as we have been discussing. <\/p>\n
Are there any young men who might be interested in going to the prom for people with disabilities with this attractive girl?<\/p>\n

Maybe Syndi didn’t think much would come back, but she was mistaken. <\/p>\n
In fact, Syndi’s post attracted so much attention right away that she was inundated with requests for dates! <\/p>\n
With the love being shared with my cutie, Syndi said she was \u2018so incredibly overwhelmed and in tears\u2019 in an update to her post. <\/p>\n
She further implied that she had found her daughter the “ideal date.\u2019She stated in the remarks that six men had already expressed interest in taking Isabelle to prom.<\/p>\n

Carson Preece was ultimately the boy Syndi decided to choose for her daughter. <\/p>\n
Trina, the proud mother of Carson, wrote on Facebook about the events leading up to Carson and Isabelle’s special day:THESE BOYS! A few weeks ago, Carson entered the room and inquired as to why I was crying. <\/p>\n
I told him about a Facebook post where a special needs 16-year-old girl’s mother was looking for a date for her daughter to attend the school prom. I’ll do it, Mom, he declared.<\/p>\n

He made plans to see Isabelle the day before prom to assist with decorating her room, and he kept his word.<\/p>\n

The adorable images of the couple would be enough to satisfy any parent’s pride. <\/p>\n
The two had a wonderful evening, and Isabelle was named Dutchess. Carson joined Isabelle thereafter as they watched cartoons in Isabelle’s room.<\/p>\n

Trina, who was present to capture each memorable occasion, recalled: <\/p>\n
Izzie is a sweet girl who is nonverbal, wheelchair-bound, fed through a tube, and generally noncommunicative. <\/p>\n
She lit up like the 4th of July, though, a couple times when her eyes met Carson’s. and he did as well!<\/p>\n

As she explained that one person bought the tickets, another took care of hair and cosmetics, and a third bought flowers, Syndi was eager to share the favors that other locals had provided. <\/p>\n
Nowadays, it’s rare to hear tales about towns coming together, which makes this one all the more touching!<\/p>\n
