On October 22, 1978, Roy Clark, a country music icon, gave a live performance on “\u2019Hee Haw.\u2019 From 1969 through 1997, <\/p>\n

Roy served as the presenter of the nationally broadcast country variety show. Have you ever seen a \u2018Hee Haw\u2019 movie episode? <\/p>\n

On stage, Roy sat by himself in front of a red and blue backdrop. He was playing his acoustic guitar while also sporting a cream colored blazer and pants. <\/p>\n

The crowd remains silent as he quietly performs the lovely ballad \u2018Yesterday When I Was Young\u2019 in a sweet and gentle voice. <\/p>\n

He sung words that were deeply moving. When I was younger, I used to anticipate hearing a lot of upbeat tunes. <\/p>\n

My brilliant eyes didn’t even want to look since there were so many crazy delights waiting and creating so much suffering. I moved so quickly that both time and youth eventually ran out. <\/p>\n

Roy substituted a hint of sexiness for his usual and eccentric comedy because it was the show’s tenth anniversary. <\/p>\n

One of the largest and most well-known songs on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart was Roy’s rendition of the tune. It entered the Top 40 pop hits after peaking at number 9 and ranking at number 19. <\/p>\n

The song’s lyrics, which were quite moving, resonated with a lot of listeners across the nation. <\/p>\n

Mickey Mantle personally requested Roy to sing the song at his funeral in 1995, and Roy obliged.<\/p>\n
