<\/p>\nDisaster hits at the Turkish-Syrian border as the year enters its second month.The ground trembled while people were sleeping inside their houses. <\/p>\n
Thousands of individuals were instantly buried under mountains of debris and metal in the early hours of the morning. <\/p>\n
More than 21,000 people have died, and a magnitude 7.8 earthquake also caused thousands of people to be buried alive. <\/p>\n
It was among the year’s deadliest moments.
\nBut despite the suffering and sorrow, there were isolated miracles that acted as rays of hope. <\/p>\n
Emergency personnel had already started working around the clock when the sun rose.
\nPatients and newborns were saved by doctors and other healthcare personnel.<\/p>\n

Rescue efforts were launched by the military, firefighters, and police as people were trapped beneath concrete and earth slabs. <\/p>\n
Rescuers from all over the world showed up at the scene prepared to help.Two of these survivors were kids. <\/p>\n
Two babies were found by rescuers and first responders in Haram.Mariam, a 7-year-old child, was trapped between the debris. <\/p>\n
She also made sure her brother Ilaaf was protected during the incident.<\/p>\n

She placed her arm over her brother’s head. <\/p>\n
She did other things as well, though, to keep her brother safe. She stayed resilient despite the physical trauma for the sake of them both. <\/p>\n
For over 36 hours, the kids remained hidden beneath the structure.Mariam greeted the rescuers with quiet stoicism when they arrived at the location where the kids were. <\/p>\n
She gently stroked her brother’s hair, as if to assure him that their misery was finally ending.<\/p>\n

She even admitted to the rescuer that she was ready to serve them. <\/p>\n
They refused her requests and told her that they would make every effort to free them both with no conditions or demands in exchange.<\/p>\n
The kids were covered in blankets and taken away. <\/p>\n
