Celebrity pair filed for divorce in June 2020, citing \u2018irreconcilable disagreements,\u2019 and the union ended in divorce in 2021. <\/p>\n
Yet, neither Kelly nor Brandon have been particularly transparent about the events that led to <\/p>\n
their breakup,leaving admirers all over the world to speculate as to what exactly made them lose love. <\/p>\n
But now that Clarkson has spoken publicly about the choice that \u2018torn her apart,\u2019 her words are genuinely devastating.<\/p>\n

Yet occasionally, it does happen. <\/p>\n
The Since U Been Gone singer finally made the decision to talk openly about the subject of her high-profile divorce from Brandon Blackstock, <\/p>\n
whom she had been married to since 2013, two years after their breakup, acknowledging that it was a decision the couple weighed heavily.<\/p>\n
When asked directly what divorce \u2018does to you\u2019 during an interview on the IRL podcast, Clarkson spoke honestly, <\/p>\n
and her open candor is enough to bring a tear to the eye of anyone who might be able to empathize.
\nEvery time you fall in love with someone and it doesn’t work, it tears you apart, according to Clarkson. <\/p>\n
The hardest part of divorce, in my opinion, is that it wasn’t a snap choice, especially when it’s publicized and people assume they know everything. <\/p>\n
\u2018Anybody who has gone through a divorce knows that it took years to attempt to make it work, and I never wanted to be a part of something to’make it work,’\u2019 the speaker said. <\/p>\n
The 40-year-old continued, \u2018Sometimes that simply doesn’t happen. I wanted to make it beautiful, I wanted to make it fantastic, I wanted to make it everything it possibly could be.<\/p>\n

Before becoming engaged in late 2012, Clarkson and Blackstock dated for six years. After getting married in October 2013, they welcomed two kids: River, now 8, and Remington, now 6. <\/p>\n
Kelly discussed how the children are adjusting to the reality that their parents are no longer together later in the IRL podcast. <\/p>\n
\u2018Sometimes they’ll say, especially in the last two years, and it kills me, but I want them to be honest, so I never say, <\/p>\n
‘Oh god, don’t tell me that,’ but a lot of the time it would be like, ‘You know, I’m just so sad, I wish mother and daddy were in the same house,’\u2019 she added. <\/p>\n
\u2018I’m raising that kind of person, and they’re pretty honest about it.<\/p>\n

It became public knowledge shortly after Clarkson and Blackstock’s divorce in 2021 was officially finalized that the former would pay the latter an astounding $200,000 every month as part of the divorce process. <\/p>\n
Many were surprised by the sum, but considering that Clarkson apparently earns $1,583,617 every month based on court documents pertaining to her money, we believe it to be a burden she can readily handle. <\/p>\n
