<\/p>\nThey weren’t constantly content. They met each other in dance class. We’re not talking about the story of Dirty Dancing. <\/p>\n
At age 15, Niemi enrolled in dance classes at the Houston Ballet Dance Company. Mother of Swayze oversaw the studio.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Though they first met when Swayze was 19, they had something in common. About their first dance, Niemi remarked, \u2018When I looked into his eyes, it was like everything burst to life.\u2019<\/p>\n
Although Swayze liked Niemi, his \u2018Casanova\u2019 dances were ineffective. She didn’t trust a word I said. <\/p>\n
We went on about half of our dates in silence because, according to Swayze, \u2018she wouldn’t talk to me if she thought I was pretending.\u2019<\/p>\n
She was won over by discussing her interests. Swayze told her, \u2018I knew she was the smartest lady I’d ever met in my life.\u2019 For a very long time, I didn’t deserve her. <\/p>\n
Their 34-year union started in 1975.<\/p>\n

Niemi said on Instagram that the only thing they could afford to take with them was 25 cents for a phone call in case of need. <\/p>\n
She’s Like the Wind, the song from the movie’s classic dancing scene, was about his wife. At that point, <\/p>\n
he continued, \u2019I thought that I’m very, very fortunate to have a lady who believes that I hung the moon.\u2019<\/p>\n
In 1988, Patrick was questioned regarding his wife. She is my creative collaborator in every way, he said. We simply feel strong. <\/p>\n
We genuinely get along. Like we were old friends. Even though our battles are huge, I like them.
\nLove helped them survive some terrible situations. He had a hard time accepting this. <\/p>\n
He battled for a very long time following his father’s passing. According to Swayze’s memoir, \u2018Dad was <\/p>\n
the rock on which our family was created.\u2019 an ever-present buddy. More than mother, father took care of us.<\/p>\n
The loss of his father and other events hurt him and their relationship. They were never parents.
\nIt was heartbreaking for Niemi to lose her child in 1990. <\/p>\n
In his autobiography, he states, \u2018When I got there, he was dead.\u2019 I felt overpowered. In the parking lot, Niemi and I sobbed and hugged one other. <\/p>\n
The depression in Swayze remained. His career changed course after the sudden death of his younger sister in 1994. <\/p>\n
Even though they were in love, these terrible things damaged them, and in 2004 they briefly separated up. <\/p>\n
Their romance was reignited when they bought a ranch in the country and took a break from their jobs.<\/p>\n

\u2018Swayze and his father raised horses. We work together,\u2019 Swayze said. <\/p>\n
\u2018If you maintain your friendship, learn how to fall in love again, never take the other person for granted, and see things with new eyes, a relationship will last.\u2019<\/p>\n
His good times were over. In 2008, shortly after he started acting again, he received a stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis. <\/p>\n
Swayze, unlike most people, remained healthy for months despite being ill. Despite being ill, he recorded 13 episodes of the Beast.<\/p>\n

He passed away after a miraculous 22-month battle. He passed away next to his wife. <\/p>\n
Swayze and Niemi died by themselves. She listened to music while dozing on his shoulder while holding his hand. <\/p>\n
She continues to laud him. <\/p>\n
\u2018You never stop loving someone when you lose them,\u2019 Niemi continued, \u2018and I feel like I have a different relationship with him now.\u2019<\/p>\n
Yet he’s still a part of my life and heart, and he never leaves me.<\/p>\n

Niemi joined PanCAN, a group that tackles pancreatic cancer, in memory of Swayze. I had enough to do. Even if he were dead, I would fight for him. <\/p>\n
On the anniversaries of his birth, marriage, and passing, Niemi pays tribute to Swayze. She rides on horses and indulges in small delights to remember him. <\/p>\n
He gave me the go-ahead. He informed me.<\/p>\n
