Real-life heroes exist and are not just characters in movies or comic books; they accomplish extraordinary feats, frequently at the cost of supreme sacrifice. <\/p>\n

A crossing guard lost his life in Kansas City on Tuesday in order to save children who may have perished. <\/p>\n

The students at Christ the King Parish School respected the elderly crossing guard, Bob Nill, who had worked there for five years. Many of them called him \u2018Mr. Bob\u2019. <\/p>\n

About eight in the morning, a dark car crossed Nill’s crossing. on Tuesday, according to accounts.Nill risked his life in order to save two children. <\/p>\n

Thank God, the two children who were stopped by him paid attention, according to school principal Cathy Fithian to KMBC 9. <\/p>\n

Nill reportedly shoved the kids out of the way as the car passed past, according to witnesses. Sadly, <\/p>\n

he was struck. His nephew Randy claimed that the heroic act was nothing out of the ordinary for him. <\/p>\n

\u2018To some, what my Uncle Bob did to get the tiny kids across the street may have appeared like a small thing, <\/p>\n

but to him it was a very significant task, and now we know how vital it was,\u2019 he added. He might have spared a number of lives. <\/p>\n

Nill worked in finance and the Coast Guard before retiring. He continued to give back to his community while working as a crossing guard after he retired from his full-time job. <\/p>\n

Randy said, \u2018I think he felt like he could help kids and also make himself feel good about what he was doing.\u2019<\/p>\n

On their Facebook page on Tuesday, Christ the King Parish School posted a message. <\/p>\n

\u2018We wanted to provide you an update on Mr. Nill, our crossing guard. We are sorry to inform you of his passing. <\/p>\n

Please keep Mr. Nill and his family in your prayers as well as the students, parents, and teachers who witnessed the disaster today. <\/p>\n

\u2018Mr. Nill is a hero, as you should also be aware. He stopped two of our students from crossing the street as the car got closer. <\/p>\n

Rest in peace, Bob Nill. You will be hailed as a hero for your actions because they helped save lives.<\/p>\n
