It was like giving two sisters the best Christmas present a few weeks early when they were finally able to speak to one another after being apart for a very long period. <\/p>\n

Although seeing her older sister Harriet Carter for the first time at such a late stage in her life <\/p>\n

was tough for Linda Hoffman, who is now 73 years old, she stated she would not have had it any other way.<\/p>\n

It was Carter who said, \u2019I think we found each other when we were meant to.\u2019<\/p>\n

Before their initial chance encounter, which happened after they both registered for accounts on Ancestry.com, the women did not know one another.<\/p>\n

Hoffman was unaware that she had a sibling named Carter at the time, as Carter, now 76, had been placed for adoption not long after being born when her parents were only 18 years old. <\/p>\n

Almost two years ago, the sisters were able to find one another on the ancestry website (Ancestry <\/p>\n

is a website that compiles records of family history and links families from all over the world).<\/p>\n

Hoffman recalled that Harriet had sent her a message that read, \u2019I think it’s possible that we’re related. <\/p>\n

Despite the fact that we were a perfect match, neither of our parents ever mentioned it to anyone. <\/p>\n

The two eventually made contact over the phone, and since then they have been talking almost every day.<\/p>\n

However, because of the ongoing epidemic, the sisters were unable to meet in person right away.<\/p>\n

In the end, the sisters were able to catch up while sitting in the airport terminal and looking over <\/p>\n

old pictures of their mother and the rest of the family, including Carter, who wasn’t there at the time.<\/p>\n
