<\/p>\nWhen Kateri Schwandt and Jay Schwandt, who would later become her husband, started dating when they were in high school, their relationship grew.<\/p>\n
They finally got married in 1993 and started their exciting life together.<\/p>\n
The couple from West Michigan had been working hard in school, and they had already had three children while they were still in school.<\/p>\n
They were not at all ready for the number of children to grow so much.<\/p>\n
Kateri and Jay have been happy parents for 30 years.
\nTheir kids are named Tyler, Zach, Drew, Brandon, Tommy, Vinny, Calvan, Gabe, Wesley, Charlie, Luke, Tucker, Francisco, and Finley.<\/p>\n
They tried their best to take care of their 14 sons, but it wasn’t always easy. The mother Kateri had almost given up hope of ever having a girl because she had spent most of her adult life in homes where there were only boys.<\/p>\n
In an interview she gave to a news organization in 2014, Kateri said the following:<\/p>\n
I think that if we had a girl, it would surprise both of us.<\/p>\n
Still, it wasn’t until their sixteenth try, six years later, that they were finally successful. Tyler, one of their kids, told this story:<\/p>\n
When my parents found out they were going to have a little girl, they were so happy.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Tyler said that even though it had been a few hours since they found out they were going to have a sister, he was still having trouble taking it all in.<\/p>\n
He didn’t remember seeing anything pink in their house, and he didn’t think his parents had thought about the girls’ names.<\/p>\n
She was the best thing they could have gotten as a gift.<\/p>\n
The two of them came up with the cute name on their own. The name Maggie Jayne was chosen for the new baby girl.<\/p>\n
Maggie came from Kateri’s given name, Margaret, and Jayne was a play on her father’s name. She was also known by the name Jayne.<\/p>\n
When their sweet little angel was born, the happy couple could hardly hold back their excitement.<\/p>\n
In a heartfelt letter posted on the Internet, the proud father talked about how he felt:<\/p>\n
“We are so happy and excited that Maggie Jayne has chosen to join our family.<\/p>\n
Maggie is without a question the best gift we could have asked for, but this year has also been great in so many other ways and for so many other reasons.<\/p>\n

Maggie is very lucky to have 14 boys who will look out for her as she grows up.<\/p>\n

Before anything else, they would have to get used to the toilet seat being lower.<\/p>\n
