Amy Schumer said that earlier this week, her three-year-old son Gere was taken to the emergency room. RSV, which is also called the respiratory syncytial virus, was found in the baby.<\/p>\n
The 41-year-old actress and comedian, who had hosted “Saturday Night Live” earlier that day, told her Instagram fans about her son’s condition after many hours had passed.<\/p>\n
She started the post by saying, “This was the hardest week of my life.”<\/p>\n
On Thursday, my son got RSV and was taken to the ER and hospitalized, so I couldn’t go to the practices. All of the parents who are going through this right now have my best wishes and welcomes.<\/p>\n
She said, “I was able to spend the entire day with him in the hospital, and the wonderful people at NBCSNL could not have been more helpful.”<\/p>\n
She then told the medical staff, especially the doctors and nurses, how grateful she was for how they had helped her son during his care.<\/p>\n
Schumer wrote in the last line of the blog post, “A shout-out to all the parents who are going through this right now.”<\/p>\n
During this time of year when a lot of diseases are going around, it seems like RSV is spreading across the country and hurting kids the most.<\/p>\n
Even though most of the time the symptoms are similar to those of a cold, it is still possible for more dangerous ones to show up.<\/p>\n
