<\/p>\nPeople have been known to make up lies to get out of doing their jobs.<\/p>\n
A Georgia woman, however, took things a step further by pretending to be pregnant in order to obtain seven weeks <\/p>\n
of paid leave from her employer. Furthermore, it wasn’t the first time she had concocted a tale about giving birth.<\/p>\n
She is currently facing three counts of making false claims and one count of using another person’s identity.<\/p>\n

The Georgia Office of the Inspector General (OIG) explained in a press release that the lady (43), who worked as the director of external relations at a rehabilitation agency (GVRA), <\/p>\n
made complex fabrications regarding her \u2018pregnancy\u2019. In late 2020, she informed the organization that she was expecting a child, stating that she intended to give birth in May 2021.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, her coworkers were immediately sceptical. The woman had a \u2018baby bump,\u2019 but one of her coworkers noticed that something wasn’t quite right with her.<\/p>\n
In March 2021, a coworker suspected a lady of wearing a fake pregnant tummy after observing the bottom portion of the \u2018pregnant\u2019 woman’s stomach ‘tear away’ from her body.<\/p>\n

She allegedly sent pictures of her new child to various agency employees while feigning to be \u2018pregnant\u2019, but the images were inconsistent and seemed to show distinct children.<\/p>\n
In fact, it is said that the woman’s coworkers were the ones who realized she was lying.<\/p>\n
The Agency workers, in particular those in human resources, didn’t initially detect anything odd, but fortunately <\/p>\n
they didn’t brush it off as a misunderstanding. They realized that this was considerably more serious than they had initially thought.<\/p>\n

In October 2021, detectives questioned the woman regarding her kids.<\/p>\n
Her motivation seemed to be paid time off. On May 1, 2021, a man who claimed to be the child’s father <\/p>\n
got in touch with her agency’s leaders and said that her doctor had \u2018ordered six weeks of rest after the birth.\u2019<\/p>\n
Her managers consequently gave her seven weeks of paid vacation.<\/p>\n
Investigators were unable to find any evidence that the person actually existed, therefore she was accused of identity fraud even though that person was wholly the woman’s creation.<\/p>\n
Her birth certificates were examined by the Inspectors, who found \u2018no evidence that she had ever delivered a child.\u2019<\/p>\n
