In a 2023 TikTok video that quickly went viral, a woman by the name of Brittany Dalena explained the history of the custom that her family had long practiced. <\/p>\n

However, when it came time for her wedding, she chose to think creatively and step outside the norm. But not everyone approved of her choice.<\/p>\n

A white two-piece dress with puffy sleeves and a pencil skirt is what the bride is pictured donning. <\/p>\n

Simple accessories like earrings, bracelets, a white pocketbook, and a pair of white heels completed the ensemble.<\/p>\n

In the video, the woman approached a person who was coming over for a hug until an older woman was startled when she saw her clothing up close and said, \u2018Oh my God! No way!\u2019<\/p>\n

The bride then gave her a great hug, and the woman suddenly broke down in tears.<\/p>\n

The TikTok user provided a slideshow of vintage pictures of other women in her family wearing the same outfit <\/p>\n

on their wedding days toward the end of the video to provide context for what transpired in the footage.<\/p>\n

Hers was quite different, though, because it appeared to have been altered, as she stated in the caption: \u20183rd generation wedding dress turned into a rehearsal dress.\u2019<\/p>\n

Online viewers expressed their varied perspectives about the daring act she pulled off as the dress <\/p>\n

looked different than it did when some of her female family members wore it after the video was aired on both her Instagram and TikTok accounts.<\/p>\n

A commenter commented that the older woman’s reaction was lovely and that the attire looked excellent, commenting, \u2018The dress is really gorgeous. <\/p>\n

In her original post, Dalena made it clear that the dress was only worn for the rehearsal; according to the images she posted on Instagram, she wore a different outfit on the actual wedding day.<\/p>\n
