On his way to the subway station, George crosses a crosswalk that is approximately one hundred meters distant from the building. <\/p>\n
It was at that location where he had his initial conversation with Doris Danquist. The elderly woman was attempting to <\/p>\n
cross the street, but there were cars moving in both directions at a rapid pace, so she was cautious.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
George approached her and noticed that she had tears in her eyes and a terrified expression on her face.<\/p>\n
\u2018Pardon me.Hello and how are you? George posed the query out of worry. I’m wonderful, thanks for asking, but it doesn’t seem to be working, <\/p>\n
Doris replied as she nodded. All the vehicles… They move really quickly! I was afraid I might get hit.<\/p>\n

\u2018How lovely would that be! I’m grateful. Doris gratefully accepted the present and wiped away her tears.<\/p>\n
I appreciate it, young man. \u2018What is your full name? \u2018Hi, I’m George,\u2019 he introduced himself as Doris questioned him with a smile. <\/p>\n
George Tandy here. You too? My name is Doris Danquist. It’s great to see you at last,\u2019 the elderly woman said. \u2018Genuine men are extremely hard to find in today’s society.<\/p>\n

I’m speechless at how lucky your lady is! George’s cheerful face changed to one of disappointment as <\/p>\n
soon as he heard what the woman had to say. In response, he said, \u2018My wife died away a year ago. It’s not a simple task.<\/p>\n
\u2018I am so sorry!\u2019 said Doris. \u2018Are there any children in your home?\u2019 George answered with a \u2018Yes.\u2019 <\/p>\n
\u2018There were three: two women and one man. They are what makes me happy. Without the individuals in it, there would be no point or meaning to my existence.<\/p>\n

I recognize how you’re feeling, Doris responded. I haven’t seen my Albert in five years. My grandchildren <\/p>\n
and children give me motivation. George noticed Doris waiting to cross the street at the bottom of the pedestrian lane a few days later.<\/p>\n
Hey, Mrs. Danquist! He greeted her with a cheerful hello. Could you cross over with me? Doris turned around, <\/p>\n
and as soon as she saw George, she grinned. \u2018George! My tired eyes are relieved to see you. It will bring me joy! You can also just call me Doris if you must!<\/p>\n

By holding the elderly woman’s arm, they made their way through the congested street. I generally hang out around here first thing <\/p>\n
in the morning, just so you know, Doris. I’ll bring you over if you wait for me and agree to stay here! Doris’s demeanor improved.<\/p>\n
After that, every morning before George left for work, Doris and George would walk across the street together.<\/p>\n

In the end, George said that being the only parent in the household was difficult for him because he <\/p>\n
had to sell his house and car and liquidate their assets due to the exorbitant cost of his wife’s medical treatment.<\/p>\n
George, on the other hand, did not see Doris again for more than a week after that. He remembered her going out to meet her friends <\/p>\n
three times a week, even though he hadn’t seen her in many days. What, if anything, happened to her? George was starting to get worried.<\/p>\n

The following day, George went to Doris’ apartment building and had a conversation with the doorman.<\/p>\n
The doorman responded, \u2018Oh!\u2019 while sporting a dejected expression. Danquist, Mrs., died. It appeared out of nowhere. <\/p>\n
George experienced a cold and felt dejected. \u2018But\u2026 She had no issues the week before! The doorman answered, heaving a sigh,<\/p>\n
\u2018It was a tremendous surprise for all of us, but particularly the family.\u2019 May I ask what your name is in passing?<\/p>\n

The doorman handed George a card and exclaimed, \u2018Oh!\u2019The legal representative for Mrs. Danquist asked if I knew George <\/p>\n
Tandy and how to contact him. You seem to have received an inheritance from Mrs. Danquist. George, surprised, exclaimed, \u2018For me? Although, why?<\/p>\n
