<\/p>\nWhen one of the fathers involved in a car accident noticed a toddler in Assawoman Bay, he acted quickly to save the youngster. <\/p>\n
The incident that took place in Ocean City, Maryland, on the Route 90 bridge resembled a scene from a horror movie.<\/p>\n
After a collision involving numerous automobiles, a two-year-old toddler was ejected from her car. She jumped off the railing and dove 25 feet into Assawoman Bay’s water.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The most unlikely of heroes would arrive to the rescue just when help was hard to obtain. Ava Bauer, <\/p>\n
Jonathan Bauer’s 13-year-old daughter, and other participants in the incident included them both. Although they were both in awe of one another, they were both in good health.<\/p>\n
Bauer felt impelled to intervene right away when he later noticed the baby floating in the water.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\u2018I saw the car seat and a few other items, and about six feet from the car seat was a little child,\u2019 he continued.<\/p>\n
Now he was motivated to do something, so he told Ava to call the first emergency car she saw, and then he <\/p>\n
did something himself. Unaware of the 25-foot drop in front of him, Bauer dove into the bay’s water headfirst.<\/p>\n

He held the little girl up to his shoulder and rubbed her back to make sure she was awake. The young child <\/p>\n
was flown by helicopter to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, where fortunately it was discovered that she was healthy.<\/p>\n
Initially, Bauer had every intention of hiding his true identity, but some things are simply too good to keep to oneself. And when the time comes, the citizens of his city will embrace their hero.<\/p>\n

First, Bauer received a governor’s commendation from Maryland Governor Larry Hogan for his \u2018extraordinary <\/p>\n
act of sacrifice and courage.\u2019 After then, Bauer’s life began to advance fairly swiftly.<\/p>\n
He was given a tour of an F-16 fighter jet’s cockpit by the Air Force Thunderbirds as part of their \u2018Hometown Hero\u2019 initiative. <\/p>\n
