A young Australian woman with Down Syndrome recently landed her dream job as a flight attendant, albeit for just one day.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the assistance of Jetstar Australia Airways, Georgia Knoll was able to fulfill her dream: she wanted to be a flight attendant and \u2018provide comfort to people\u2019, even for one flight. <\/p>\n
It all started when Knoll’s sister, Katherine, posted the above video on Facebook of Knoll practicing the Georgia Knoll’s Journey gesture. It needs to be seen. <\/p>\n
Katherine even tagged a few companies in her post, just for fun. She had no idea that Knoll’s polished moves would become mega-popular on the Internet and eventually be noticed by Jetstar.<\/p>\n
\u2018I thought I’d just tag some companies and if something came out of it, it would be a lot of fun, <\/p>\n
and then Jetstar contacted us and said that they would like to take Georgia to themselves,\u2019 her sister said in an interview with the Daily Mail Australia.<\/p>\n
Jetstar contacted the family to see if they could take Knoll on board as a crew member for the day. A few months later, the airline took Knoll and her mother, <\/p>\n
Debra, on a flight from Mackay to Brisbane. The opportunity to join the flight attendants on this flight gave Georgia Knoll a feeling of happiness, which clearly radiates from her smiling face at the time of the video. <\/p>\n
Knoll donned her flight attendant uniform\u2014that orange Jetstar jacket and black skirt\u2014and got to work. <\/p>\n
She greeted passengers, helped with safety demonstrations, and served refreshments to passengers.<\/p>\n
\u2018During the return flight, she showed the safety rules, served food, greeted all passengers and took the flight from Brisbane back to Mackay, <\/p>\n
and all the Jetstar crew members treated her with exceptional kindness and hospitality,\u2019Katherine said in an interview.<\/p>\n
Chief flight attendant Nicky says in a Facebook video posted by Jetstar that all crew members were lucky to have the energetic Knoll with them as she did a great job.<\/p>\n
\u2018She burns with the idea of \u200b\u200bequal treatment of all people,\u2019 admitted the girl’s mother.<\/p>\n
Georgia’s video has received over 780,000 views, and it’s safe to say that the girl made a lasting impression. <\/p>\n
She received many words of encouragement from netizens, some of whom even expressed their wish that Jetsta take on Georgia as a full-time employee. What about Georgia? <\/p>\n
She is just happy that she was able to break stereotypes and dispel misconceptions about who she is.<\/p>\n
