The actress, who has been making tabloid headlines since she was a young child, has had enough and <\/p>\n
issued a harsh warning against misrepresenting her statements, saying: \u2018You’ve been f\u2014ing with my life since I was 13 years old.\u2019<\/p>\n

Drew Barrymore’s career took off when she was only 7 years old and starred as the charming pig-tailed girl in Steven Spielberg’s 1982 smash E.T: Extra Terrestrial.<\/p>\n

For adults, achieving that level of fame is difficult, but for a young child who befriended the E.T. puppet when no one was looking, it can be risky, especially in the absence of a strict adult.<\/p>\n
According to rumors, Jaid, Barrymore’s mother, treated her young daughter like a friend and would take her to business events, Studio 54, and other nightclubs.<\/p>\n
Currently 48 years old, the Charlie’s Angels actress recalls in her 1990 memoir Little Girl Lost (co-written with Todd Gold) <\/p>\n
that she was 8 when she drank her first glass of champagne at the Firestarter wrap party, 9 when she drank her first beer at Rob Lowe’s 20th birthday <\/p>\n
party (which also featured a make-out session with his 12-year-old stepbrother), and 12 when she began using pills which where bringing health damage.<\/p>\n

Barrymore spent the following two years being dragged into recovery by her mother, who also frequently took her away for films.<\/p>\n
\u2018Kids love feeling safe, and having boundaries is one of those crucial bumper rails,\u2019 Barrymore writes in her blog in reference to the treatment facility. <\/p>\n
\u2018My life and work had no boundaries. And as unpleasant as it was, this location was just what I needed to escape the over excess of my life outside.<\/p>\n
And when she was 14, she became legally independent, lately confessing: \u2018I forgive my mother. I pardon my father. <\/p>\n
I’ve never been able to forgive myself, but I would like to and am prepared to do so since \u2018the umbilical cord was severed when I was 14 years old and I have not been the same since.\u2019<\/p>\n

Barrymore discussed the complex past she has with her own mother in an interview with Vulture. She talked about her <\/p>\n
contemporaries and their mothers before admitting that she and Jaid, who is now 77, were still repairing their connection.<\/p>\n
She remarked, \u2018All their mothers are dead, but mine is still here.\u2019 ‘Well, I don’t have that luxury,’ I say. <\/p>\n
But I’m impatient. I don’t want to be in a situation where I wish someone would pass away earlier than they were supposed to so I can advance.<\/p>\n
She continued by describing her conflicted sentiments for her mother and saying, \u2018I truly want her <\/p>\n
to be happy and prosper and be well. Nevertheless, I must develop despite her presence on the world.<\/p>\n

One hour after speaking the remarks, she already regrets implying any animosity against her mother, according to Vulture. <\/p>\n
She claims, \u2018I dared to say it, and I didn’t feel good.\u2019 \u2018Yes, I care. I will always care. I don’t think I’ve ever truly understood what it means to guard, close off, not feel, or build the wall up.<\/p>\n
She issued a warning on Instagram when tabloids seized the chance to write articles sensationalizing what she had said about her mother.<\/p>\n
The 50 First Dates said in her video, \u2018To all those tabloids out there, you’ve been f\u2014ing with my life since I was 13 years old. <\/p>\n
\u2018I’ve never expressed a desire for my mother’s demise. You have no right to use those words around me.<\/p>\n
She added, \u2018While recognizing it is tough to do while a parent is still alive, I have been vulnerable and attempted to work out a really difficult, painful connection. <\/p>\n
And those of us who must determine that in real time are unable to wait, not because the parent has passed away but rather because they are unable to wait until the time. <\/p>\n
