<\/p>\nPeople are often intrigued when they learn that a person is over 100 years old, or even a few years older, <\/p>\n
as they have experienced many hardships and have seen many significant events throughout their lifetime.<\/p>\n
In this situation, Jayne Burns, who turned 101 in July 2023, seems to have no immediate plans to retire because she is still employed and even drives herself to work.<\/p>\n
Burns had been employed for 25 years as a part-time fabric cutter at a Joann store in Mason, Ohio, according to a piece that appeared in Today in August 2023.<\/p>\n
The charming elderly woman, who was born in 1922, said she enjoyed working with others and staying active. \u2018I really don’t notice that I’m any older,\u2019 she admitted.<\/p>\n
Burns, who is still working at her age, is also autonomous because she drives herself to work and sometimes has a 20-minute trip.<\/p>\n

The elderly woman only works three days a week, which is unusual likely due to her advanced age; however, <\/p>\n
this depends on her schedule; she typically works from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the business.<\/p>\n
Burns is still able to lift fabrics\u2014aside from thick vinyl fabrics\u2014and has strong eyesight, so she is still performing well at her job despite her advanced age. <\/p>\n
Her hands and legs have arthritis, which is the only issue.In 1990, she was introduced to the management by her daughter, <\/p>\n
who also worked at the same shop. She accepted the job when it was offered to her because she was interested in cloth, and she has enjoyed it ever since.<\/p>\n

Burns stated that her children were her favorite memory from the past 100 years in a humorous TikTok film made in 2022 to commemorate her 100th birthday.<\/p>\n
She playfully claimed in the video that St. Augustine, Florida is home to the fountain of youth when asked about her secret to longevity.<\/p>\n
Despite the common belief that genes have a role in longevity, the sweet elderly woman’s story is rather different. Her mother died of an aneurysm in her 40s, and her father went away at age 65.<\/p>\n
Burns stated in an interview with Today that she had no idea why she has lived a long life. She did, however, <\/p>\n
continue to discuss some of the rituals she had been following for years, and, surprisingly, many people can relate to them.<\/p>\n
Burns admitted to the publication that she still consumes unhealthy foods like bacon, butter, beef, and even sweets. She eats everything, but, in moderation.<\/p>\n
As she stated, \u2018I was always active all my life doing things,\u2019 remaining active is the most important thing in her life. <\/p>\n
Therefore, in my opinion, that has been very helpful. \u2018You’ve got to keep moving and not sit around <\/p>\n

\nShe also has a skincare routine because she often applies makeup and moisturizer to her skin.<\/p>\n
As she herself developed friends at work, including the young lady who was featured in a TikTok film, <\/p>\n
her best advice for having a long life is to be surrounded by many people. Finding people who are amiable and polite is key, she said CNBC. <\/p>\n
Working at her age, she added, contributed to her lifespan because \u2018staying busy keeps you from focusing on your aches and pains.\u2019<\/p>\n
