Critics will always have their knives out for you if you don’t look like you did in your 20s, regardless of whether you choose to age naturally or have cosmetic procedures.<\/p>\n

Oscar-winner The 48-year-old actress Charlize Theron is all too aware of this: as she’s aged, many have questioned her changing appearance and said that she underwent \u2018bad plastic surgery.\u2019<\/p>\n
She reportedly told the magazine, \u2018People think I had a facelift.\u2019 \u2018What did she do to her face?\u2019 they ask.<\/p>\n
\u2018I say, ‘Bitch, I’m just getting older! It doesn’t imply that my plastic surgery was subpar. This is just how things work.<\/p>\n

Theron pointed out the double standard, saying that like many women in Hollywood, she has faced criticism over her appearance that her male co-stars often escape as they age.<\/p>\n
She told Allure, \u2018I’ve always had problems with the idea that males kind of age like good wines and women kind of age like cut flowers. <\/p>\n
Although I abhor that idea and wish to fight against it, I also believe that women desire to age in a way that feels natural to them. <\/p>\n
I believe we ought to have a little more empathy for one another’s journeys. My experience of having to appear on a billboard is now extremely humorous.<\/p>\n
Theron is still a prominent Hollywood actress, despite the fact that she naturally looks a little different than she did twenty years ago. <\/p>\n
She has recently starred in blockbusters including Atomic Blonde, The Old Guard, and the Fast and <\/p>\n
the Furious series, and her visage can be seen in advertisements for Dior’s L’Or de J’Adore perfume.<\/p>\n

But her acting style has changed as she has aged. She is well-known for gaining 30 pounds for her Oscar-winning performance <\/p>\n
in 2003’s Monster, but she said she wouldn’t do it again because, at her age, it’s more tougher to lose the weight.<\/p>\n
She remembered putting on weight for the movie Tully: \u2018I called my doctor and I said, ‘I think I’m dying because I cannot lose this weight.’\u2019<\/p>\n
And he told me, ‘You’re past 40. Settle down. The metabolism you once had has changed. Everyone dislikes hearing that.<\/p>\n
Additionally, she claims that while filming action movies, it takes her longer to recover.\u2019I wish I had my 25-year-old body,\u2019 she told Allure, <\/p>\n
\u2018that I could just throw against the wall and not even hurt tomorrow.\u2019 \u2018Now, if I skip three days of exercise and return to the gym, I can’t walk. I am unable to use the toilet.<\/p>\n

Even though Theron is open about becoming older, she also voiced assurance in her attractiveness, saying, \u2018My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging.\u2019<\/p>\n
