<\/p>\nIt frequently happens that tense interactions with the in-laws cause problems in marriages. Even well-known people are not immune from this. <\/p>\n
Camila Alves, the wife of Matthew McConaughey, spoke candidly about her interactions with her mother-in-law, describing them as \u2018tricky.\u2019<\/p>\n

With Matthew McConaughey, to whom she has been married since 2012 and has three children, Camila Alves McConaughey revealed that when they <\/p>\n
first started dating in 2006, her mother-in-law Mary Kathlene ‘Kay’ McCabe, who is now 91 years old, started \u2018testing\u2019 her.<\/p>\n
She performed all of these actions before I entered the picture, correct? She truly put me to the test. Really challenging me, she remembered.<\/p>\n
She would refer to me by all of Matthew’s ex-girlfriends’ names and begin speaking bad Spanish with me, which I felt was a little demeaning. I mean, a variety of things.<\/p>\n
When she retaliated, her MIL at last showed her some respect.<\/p>\n

When Camila was ultimately accepted into the family, she recalled the experience. She persuaded her mother-in-law to go with her after <\/p>\n
getting a modeling gig in Istanbul with extra bonuses. Kay told anecdotes on the trip that Camila found unsettling. <\/p>\n
After her mother-in-law started crying on the third day, Camila realized she had been exaggerating.<\/p>\n
Camila made the decision to defend herself at that point: \u2018So I just [flipped] it on her and brought my spicy Latin and Brazilian side, and I let her have it. <\/p>\n
We had it back and forth, back and forth, so I went back at her. This changed everything and gained her mother-in-law’s esteem. <\/p>\n
\u2018We have the most beautiful friendship, and I have so much respect for her, ever since that day and that night. <\/p>\n
It can be challenging at times, but she has so much respect for me, she said. Camilla countered that \u2018we always end with a good laugh and a joke.\u2019<\/p>\n

The two discussed their close relationship and the struggle they went through to be where they are now in 2020.<\/p>\n
During the early stages of Camila and Matthew’s relationship, Kay remarked that the two tenacious and independent people were \u2018testing each other.\u2019<\/p>\n
The model, however, had a different perspective and said, \u2018Well I’ll say more you were testing me.”<\/p>\n
Not only Camilla but other family members have occasionally struggled to get along with Kay. Notably, Matthew went for eight years without speaking to his mother. <\/p>\n
She frequently let their intimate chats leak to the media, which was the cause of this. He had to set \u2018certain boundaries\u2019 with her at some point.<\/p>\n
