<\/p>\nWhen Courtney Baker found out she was pregnant with her third child, she hoped that the pregnancy and birth would go as smoothly as they had with her first two children. <\/p>\n
On the other hand, the baby was diagnosed with Down syndrome during a checkup that was otherwise routine. <\/p>\n
After that, he advised that she get an abortion since he believed that her family would have a difficult time taking care of a child who was born with Down syndrome. Baker did not agree. <\/p>\n
On November 25, 2022, Baker uploaded a picture to social media of her daughter Emersyn wearing a T-shirt and black leggings with the words \u2018I’m writing my own story…\u2019<\/p>\n
on the front of the shirt. In the video clip, Emmy can be seen walking barefoot and smiling after depositing a letter in a mailbox. <\/p>\n

Baker captioned the photo with the following: \u2018Emmy is mailing local doctors letters on how to deliver a Down syndrome diagnosis.\u2019<\/p>\n
People who have Down syndrome will always rise up to meet and exceed expectations, and this is the honest truth about Down syndrome. <\/p>\n
Happiness, love, thoughtfulness, hugs, and the highest possible standard of living. She deserves our respect. …and so are her contemporaries.”<\/p>\n
Baker has faith in those statements, and she is also fighting for the rights of other children all across the world who suffer from the condition. <\/p>\n
On August 17, 2023, she took to Instagram to vent her frustration at the governments that were working toward eradicating Down syndrome. <\/p>\n

Baker revealed that she was frustrated since the countries in question would not have provided Emmy with an opportunity. <\/p>\n
In addition to that, they would have to deal with being bullied and spread false information.<\/p>\n
Baker wrote, \u2018It’s time to call it like it is.” “It’s time to call it like it is,” “Europe, Australia, Denmark, <\/p>\n
and Iceland. North America. It is impossible to eradicate Down syndrome without first wiping out every single <\/p>\n
person on earth who has the condition… And there is absolutely no reason to be proud of that.\u2019<\/p>\n
Baker sent a letter to her prenatal physician and also shared it on her Facebook page after she wrote it. <\/p>\n
\u2018Because I am aware of how significant this is, writing this took a significant amount of time. I desired for there to be no flaws in it. She began by saying, \u2018Just like Emmy.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Recently, a friend shared with me the schedule that her prenatal specialist followed in order to see her <\/p>\n
child throughout her sonograms. He would look over her newborn and remark, \u2018He’s perfect,\u2019 as he did so. <\/p>\n
\u2018After the birth of her son, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome, she went to see the same doctor. <\/p>\n
He looked at her son and said, \u2018I told you,\u2019 as he spoke to him. Baker continued, “He couldn’t be any better.\u2019<\/p>\n
The mother of three revealed that she was upset because her doctor had encouraged her to terminate her <\/p>\n

Baker shared with the physician how her daughter had impacted not only her life but also the lives of thousands of other people. <\/p>\n
She stated that \u2018she’s given us bigger smiles, more laughter, and sweeter kisses than we’ve ever known,\u2019 and that’s exactly what she did.<\/p>\n
\u2018So my prayer is that no other mommy will ever have to go through what I did,” Baker said, adding that she wished the next time a doctor saw a fetus with Down syndrome, <\/p>\n
